Decontamination of Elmira’s aquifer still has a long way to go before standards are met

Elmira, Ont. – The decontamination of the town’s aquifer is still a long way from meeting drinking water standards even though improvements are being made. The contaminants were discovered more than three decades ago, and the plume of Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) and chlorobenzene.contamination has decreased in size by about 60 per cent over the past 30 years.
